Who Should be the Next Captain of the San Jose Sharks?

Prior to the 2012-2011 season, the San Jose Sharks opted to vacate all captaincy positions as a fresh start for team leadership. The player that emerged with the captain’s C on his sweater was none other than veteran Joe Thorton. After the Sharks’ debacle in the playoffs last year blowing a 3-0 series lead to the eventual Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, the Sharks organization once again felt a new start was needed in leadership. In the first five games of the season, the San Jose Sharks had an impressive 4-0-1 record. They seemed to put the playoff disaster of last season behind them, and positioned themselves for a fresh start. Then came a rough patch, where the Sharks went about earning 15 out of a possible 38 points from Oct. 19 through Nov. 26. Before Nov. 29, they were 6-10-3 in their previous 19 games.
