Bruins Prospect Update: Dougie Hamilton with a huge week
Dougie Hamilton continues to dominate in the OHL. He picked up seven points last week in just two games. Hamilton scored 4 assists on Saturday before adding another three assists on Sunday. He leads all OHL defensemen with 24 points, and comes in at 14th overall. His 18 assists is also first among all OHL defensemen. Hamilton is also playing well defensively, recording a +15 in 19 games. He continues to prove why he is regarded as the Bruins top prospect.
Malcolm Subban – Subban continues to have a good season for the Belleville Bulls. He’s upped his record to 8-3-2 but his goals against (2.21) has gone up while his save percentage has taken a slight dip (.929). These shouldn’t be of too much concern as it’s just the normal ups and downs of the season.
Alexander Kokhlachev - Kokhlachev hasn’t appeared in a game since last week and appears to be struggling back home. His two points in 19 games is a far cry from the 145 points he recorded in two seasons with Windsor.
Brian Ferlin – Ferlin has picked up an assist in two games in the last week. He’s got two points in four games but should start piling up the points as the season gets going.
Zane Gothberg – Gothberg received his second start of the season against Boston University. He surrendered four goals in the loss. As a freshman, Gothberg shouldn’t be expected to get many more starts as conference play starts soon.
Tommy Cross – Cross continues to be a point per game player with 11 points in 11 games. He’s also improved to a -1 in the last four games and has only two penalty minutes in that same span.
Seth Griffith – Griffith has five points in the last three games and now has 26 points (13 goals, 13 assists) in 17 games. Those 26 points ranks him eighth in the OHL. During the same three game span, Griffith has taken only two penalty minutes.
Matt Grzelyck – Grzelyck picked up two more assists over the weekend, giving him five assists in six games this season.
Maxim Chudinov – Chudinov continues to be a strong presence on the blueline for St. Petersburg SKA. He’s a +8 in 22 games with five assists.
Shawn Hunwick – Hunwick went 1-1 in the last week and lowered his goals against to 2.57 and raised his save percentage to .930. It looks like he is getting comfortable in South Carolina and could be ready to take off soon.
