USA, Canada set for rematch in 2013 World Juniors
It’s not the NHL, but Team USA is starting to turn some heads in the World Junior Championship competition. Team USA handled the Czech Republic 7-0 in Ufa, Russia, setting up a rematch with Team Canada, the only team to beat the Americans in the tournament thus far. The game against Canada is set for Thursday and will be aired on the NHL Network.
The Americans are coached by former Buffalo Sabre Phil Housley and appear to be getting hot at the right time. Team USA scored five power play goals in their route over the Czechs and they know they will need to keep the heat on if they want to knock off the Canadians.
Thursday’s rematch in the semifinals promises to be a good one. When the two teams met in the preliminary round, Canada beat the Americans by a score of 2-1. Many are expecting the winner of the rematch to go on and take the gold medal for the tournament.
