Sharks Sign D Fedun; Boyle and Havlat Sign Elsewhere

san jose sharks trade rumors

The San Jose Sharks announced Tuesday that the club has signed Defenseman Taylor Fedun from Edmonton. Also, D Dan Boyle, and F Marty Havlat have signed with other teams.

Fedun, 26, was the 1 Oiler RFA to not be qualified by the team. The 6-foot, 198 pound offensive defenseman, scored 10 goals and added 28 helpers to total 38 points in 65 AHL games with the Oklahoma City Barons. Fedun was injured in the preseason of the 2011-12 season, he fractured his femur going into the boards after being tripped while going after an icing. he missed the whole 2011-12 campaign recovering. He played 4 games in the NHL last season scoring 2 goals.  i think this is a very good pick up for San Jose who has said they are trying to get younger.

As for Boyle and Havlat: Boyle has signed a 2 year, $9,000,000 deal with the New York Rangers; Havlat has signed a 1 year, $1,500,000 contract with New Jersey.
