Henrik Lundqvist sets New York Rangers goaltending records

New York Rangers Swedish goaltender Henrik Lundqvist put his name in the club’s record books twice this week with a pair of wins over the Ottawa Senators and New Jersey Devils. Lundqvist now holds the Rangers marks for both wins and shutouts. He won his 302nd game for the Rangers on March 18 in an 8-4 win over the Senators and then set the team’s shutout record with 50 just four days later in a 2-0 victory over the Devils. Mike Richter held the former club records with 301 wins and Eddie Giacomin held the previous shutout mark at 49. (more…)

St. Louis Traded


I was wrong, and kind of glad. St. Louis has been traded to the New York Rangers for Ryan Callahan, a 1st and 2nd round pick, the Rangers receive a conditional pick if Callahan signs with Tampa. (more…)

NHL Trade Deadline: Who could be on the move?

With the Olympics underway, and the NHL on a 17 day break or so, it is time to celebrate how great the game is as we watch the best players from around the world battle it out for the ultimate glory. However, in just a couple weeks we will be watching as our favourite teams decide whether to add depth, rebuild, move a goalie, or make a blockbuster move before the trade deadline strikes. So who are some names to really watch out for come March 5th or maybe even before? I have put together a list of guys who have a strong likelihood of switching teams and some to just keep an eye out for. (more…)
