Prior to the 2012-2011 season, the San Jose Sharks opted to vacate all captaincy positions as a fresh start for team leadership. The player that emerged with the captain’s C on his sweater was none other than veteran Joe Thorton. After the Sharks’ debacle in the playoffs last year blowing a 3-0 series lead to the eventual Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, the Sharks organization once again felt a new start was needed in leadership. In the first five games of the season, the San Jose Sharks had an impressive 4-0-1 record. They seemed to put the playoff disaster of last season behind them, and positioned themselves for a fresh start. Then came a rough patch, where the Sharks went about earning 15 out of a possible 38 points from Oct. 19 through Nov. 26. Before Nov. 29, they were 6-10-3 in their previous 19 games. But recently, things have taken a positive turn for the club, but is it going to last? (more…)

The NHL announced Wednesday through Twitter that The San Jose Sharks and Los Angeles Kings will take their Febuary 21st game outside to Levi’s Stadium, new home of the San Francisco 49ers football team. (more…)
The Sharks announced on Wednesday that the team has signed Forward John Scott from Buffalo to a 1 year, $700,000 deal. The team also announced that they have acquired Forward Tye McGinn from the Flyers in exchange for a 2015 3rd round draft pick. (more…)
The San Jose Sharks announced Tuesday that the club has signed Defenseman Taylor Fedun from Edmonton. Also, D Dan Boyle, and F Marty Havlat have signed with other teams.
