So here we are. The 2013-14 NHL season is upon us and all things lockout and CBA are in the past. The shortened 2013 season may have tarnished our memories but it was still one heck of a ride. But now it is time to look forward to a new beginning, The 2013-14 Season.

In the dead of the offseason when you thought everything interesting was over… it’s not. In just a morning Detroit resigned Gustav Nyquist to a $950,000 contract for 2 years, putting them $637,879 over cap according to, Washington signed Brandon Segal to one-year two-way contract with undisclosed financial details, St. Louis agreed to a two-way contract with forward Christian Hanson,  Anaheim agreed to a 1-year contact with free agent Mark Fistric, and Carolina resigned Boychuk to a 1-year 2-way contract worth $550,000. 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs Quarterfinal Predictions


Even though this past regular season was a short one, it was still an exciting one, featuring a 38 year old winning the Art Ross Trophy and the resurgence of Alex Ovechkin as the league’s most lethal goal scorer. These 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs feature some new teams that have been accustomed to playing golf this time of year, like the Maple Leafs and Islanders.
