It has been an interesting offseason for the Columbus Blue Jackets and their pursuit to resign restricted free agent Ryan Johansen. Rumors that relations have become strained between Johansen and Blue Jackets management are swirling, as well as Johansen’s agent Kurt Overhardt stating that Johansen has at least six standing offers from various Kontinental Hockey League Teams. Detroit Red Wings 2014-2015 Season Preview

Last season, the Detroit Red Wings had a very up and down season. Finishing 4th in the Atlantic Division and 8th in the Eastern Conference with a 39-28-15 record was not ideal, but it did not stop the team from making their 23rd consecutive postseason appearance. Yet, numerous injuries to top players as well as inconsistent goaltending and a rough first round matchup in the playoffs against the Boston Bruins certainly did not help things and ended Detroit’s season much sooner than they had hoped. But there were bright spots along the way, giving Detroit fans hope that the team can turn their luck around this season and get back to being one of the top teams in the league. (more…)
