Is it too little, too late for the Colorado Avalanche?

avalanche_varlamov

As the Colorado Avalanche venture through the second half of the 2014-2015 season, their playoff hopes continue to diminish. The Colorado Avalanche came into this season with a chip on their shoulder; a chip that no longer exists. After finishing 2nd in the Western Conference during the 2013-2014 season, the Avalanche made an early exit during the first round of the playoffs. This set the tone for the occurring 2014-2015 season.  After 44 games of play, the Avs occupy the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a staggering low of 45 points. (more…)

After Inspiring Home Win, Wild Flounder VS. Stars to Start New Year

mikko koivu nhl trade rumors

After limping home from a trouncing in the Lone Star state, the Wild are back to the drawing board. There have been glimpses of greatness in Minnesota since NHL play has resumed post-holiday break, mainly in the Wild’s three-to-one victory over a bruised up Toronto team that seems to be stuck in limbo at the moment. New Jersey Devils 2014 Draft Review

2014 NHL Draft

During the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, the New Jersey Devils had six selections available to them. Many felt that the team should go after some scoring prospects, and leave the defensemen and goalies to other teams. Having Cory Schneider at the time primed to sign a long term contract extension, the team did not select any goaltenders. Despite having some high defensive prospects already in the system, it would not be a complete Devils draft without Lou Lamoriello picking one or two blue liners. Some fans also found their wishes granted when the team opted to select four forwards. Just how well did the Devils do in the selections made? Check below to see who you may find in a Devils sweater soon. (more…)
