Taylor Hall: Expectations vs. Reality

On June 29th, New Jersey Devils general manager Ray Shero pulled off a blockbuster move that sent defenseman Adam Larsson to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for forward Taylor Hall. The general consensus amongst those in the Devils community feel that the move was a necessary one and will play a role in bringing Jersey’s Team back into the playoff fold. Calgary Flames acquire Joe Colborne from Toronto

One September 9th it was announced that the Calgary Flames had traded away their 2014 fourth round pick for Joe Colborne.  With the addition of Brian Burke, Jay Feaster has been able to get first hand knowledge of Joe Colborne  after spending last season talking about him but not making an offer. Joe Colborne fits perfectly with the rebuild because he is only 23 years old, he is 6’5″ 213 lbs, and is a centre. Another plus is that he was born in Calgary. (more…)

Buffy: The Flyers Slayer

Dustin Byfuglien throughout his career has participated in key games, which have resulted in the Flyers not winning one thing or another. In 2010, he was on the Blackhawks who beat the Flyers in the Stanley Cup Finals after a sensational playoff run. This year he was on the Jets team that all but eliminated the Flyers playoff odds when they were on a streak. Additionally, Buffy’s regular season record against the Flyers is 11-5-1. If that record is extrapolated then he’d win enough games for the Presidents trophy with 111 points over 82 games. (more…)
